Final "Pegaso" Character

So finally finished with my semester at school. I feel that this was perhaps my toughest semester yet. It was taxing in workload, as well as myself trying to come out with final results that I was happy and proud of to put on a demo reel. It is a tough challenge, since this (and the gladiator characters) are the first ones I create, and so the challenge of learning how to do everything while at the same time making it good enough for a demo reel is a big one. In the end, while they may not be at production level (like you would see at most studios) I was happy with the way that both characters turned out. I know what things I need to improve to make them better, and while I may not go back to these particular characters, I will definately employ some of the things I learnt in the next character or enviorenment that I create.

Check out the final turntable animation for one of the characters I created, "Pegaso" based largely on the character by the same name of the Anime "Saint Seiya" aka "Knights of the Zodiac" aka "Caballeros del Zodiaco"

Gladiator Update

Just a small little update since I had not post anything here in a bit. Still working on the texturing, as well as the begining of a small simple enviorenment. It is fully rigged (although it somehow got screwed up and I am forced to go back and fix it a little). Project has to be done in a couple of weeks.

Gladiator WIP model

This is a model I am working on for one of my courses. A Roman gladiator based (heavily) off of Maximus from the movie Gladiator.
The modeling is done, and I will begin unwrapping it to move on to texturing. While there are points I could definitely improve, I need to get to a certain point before my next class and the lack of time is keeping me back a little bit, however I hope to be able to get further on my next character(s).

Final Poly Count: 5421 Polygons
All armor pieces are separate

Architectural Asset

With school now underway and getting alot of 3d work done thanks to classes, I will be trying to post any images on here both for myself and anyone else who may enjoy it. I would appreciate any advice or critiques on any of the images.
So with that, I will start with my most recently finished piece. The assignment was to create an architectural asset that could be used in a game engine, and this is the outcome

A new beginning and a little about me

A big hello out to the interwebs!

I have started this blog in order to have a place to post any work I may do, whether it is for school or my own free time. I welcome any feedback on anything I may post here, and would appreciate any advice, tips, or feedback of any kind on my work.

A little about me:

I am a 23 year old student at Colombia College in Chicago. Currently in the Interactive Arts and Media Game Art program, I am working on improving my 3d (and 2d as well) skills. Currently considered a Junior, I've been playing around by myself with 3d programs for quiet a while now. While I have nothing too serious to show, I will be posting a couple of things I have created in the past and will post things that I make in the future.

My interest definitely lies in modelling, as it is what I enjoy the most, with my weakest point being texturing. I have basic knowledge of Photoshop and is one aspect I hope to improve most in the coming semesters of school.
